"These are for you...
because they are for Cynthia..."

Outside the back door of the cottage I grew up in was a forsythia bush that just soared above my head, and bloomed every spring in this beautiful, amazing explosion of yellow. I remember my mother telling me all the time, "These are for you, because these are for Cynthia..."

My mother's garden influenced my entire life — she had a little maze of countless rosebushes, peonies, hyacinths, ranunculus, tulips, daffodils, plum and peach trees, and our garden full of beans, tomatoes, and strawberries, and everything else flourishing every year under an ancient tulip tree overhead.

This is the inspiration for Forsythia Cottage. This is the garden I can build full of art, writing, and flowers that no one can take from me. Welcome.
